Dr Jamie Wallis was elected as the Member of Parliament for Bridgend in the 2019 General Election. Born and raised in Bridgend, he became the first Conservative to be elected in Bridgend since 1983.
Jamie serves on the parliamentary committees on Welsh Affairs and The Future Trading Relationship with the European Union.
Jamie is also a member of the newly formed China Research Group which is a group of Conservative MPs to promote debate and fresh thinking about how Britain should respond to the rise of China.
Upon his election as the Member of Parliament for Bridgend, one of his very first votes in Westminster was to deliver on the verdict of the people of Bridgend and the UK to, finally, Get Brexit Done.
His background is in business, negotiating deals with companies from across the world. He also has a doctorate in astrobiology.
