Baroness Bloomfield of Hinton Waldrist, who was born and raised in the Vale of Glamorgan, worked in the Conservative Party's treasury department from 2006–2010; and was subsequently elevated to a life peerage by David Cameron in 2016.
She served as a government whip from 2019 until resigning in 2023 and, following the 2024 General Election, was appointed as Shadow Parliamentary-Under Secretary of State for Wales.
Before entering politics, she worked for the Bank of America, as well as a headhunter for Russell Reynolds Associates.
From 2010 - 2016 she worked for private equity firm Atlantic Superconnection Corporation, which was focused on securing low carbon energy via an interconnector between Iceland and the UK.
Her interests include championing Wales in the House of Lords, energy and transport - and learning Welsh!
