Commenting on the announcement today (April 9) from the Health Minister that the lockdown due to Covid-19 (Coronavirus) will remain in place for "several more weeks at the very least", Angela Burns AM – the Shadow Health Minister – said:
“This is the only sensible step to take at this time, and really shouldn’t come as a surprise. It was quite clear, despite what some news outlets are reporting, that the initial lockdown was to be reviewed after three weeks; there was no mention that it would be lifted.
“Sadly, we are most likely not yet through the worst of this pandemic, and all precautions must be taken to keep us safe, including continuing with the lockdown."
