Commenting on his exchange with the First Minister today during FMQs, Welsh Conservative Leader, Andrew RT Davies MS said:
“Whilst I agree that 20mph is sensible outside heavily pedestrianised areas, such as schools, hospitals and care homes, the Labour Government’s blanket 20mph speed limit rollout across Wales is simply ludicrous.
“Just today ITV Wales released a poll showing that 66% of the people of Wales were against blanket 20mph speed limits, just 31% were in favour. It’s clear the people of Wales recognise that a £9 billion economic hit, emergency services slowed down, and livelihoods put at risk, is not a sensible decision.
“Regretfully, the First Minister and his Deputy Minister continue to ignore the concerns of the majority, continue to push their extreme ideology, and continue to think they know best.”
