Commenting on Welsh farmers pleas for support, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Andrew RT Davies MS, said:
“Farmers have been pleading for Welsh Government to take action for 7 weeks now and yet all we’ve seen is dither and delay. The Minister responsible even appeared to go AWAL for weeks.
“People need to remember that farmers put the food on our table, are guardians of our environment and are a fundamental part of the Welsh economy.
“We’ve been calling for swift action and tailored support for farmers, especially at the start of lockdown when dairy farmers in particular were being severely hit. Welsh Government needs to do more, now.”
