The Welsh Government’s Wales Economic and Fiscal Report 2025 has revealed that Labour and Plaid Cymru’s Net Zero plans will cost £2,700 more per person in Wales than in other parts of Britain, based on the Welsh Government’s own figures.

Commenting, Welsh Conservative Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and the Environment, Janet Finch-Saunders MS, said:

“Labour and Plaid’s relentless obsession with Net Zero is set to drive up energy bills and further impoverish hardworking Welsh families.

“The UK Labour Government and Ed Miliband’s ban on new oil and gas licenses is already punishing households who are struggling with rising costs.

“Net Zero by 2050 is impossible. We must deal with the reality that the cost of Labour and Plaid's obsession will hit Welsh energy bills even harder.”
