The Welsh Conservatives are shocked and disappointed to see passengers stranded in Cardiff Airport for more than 40 hours following flight disruption.
The BBC has described the scenes as chaotic with many passengers frustrated by the lack of information and potential cancellations of their holidays.
The Labour Government purchased the airport in 2013 for £52 million.
Commenting on news, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Transport, Natasha Asghar MS said:
“It is deeply concerning that passengers have been waiting for more than 40 hours in Cardiff Airport with very little information.
“After years of restrictions, hardworking families in Wales deserve to be able to get away and relax on holiday.
“Events such as this not only damage the reputation of the airport, but it also prevents the Welsh Government owned Airport from being able to recover out of the pandemic. Frankly, this sort of disruption will just entice people to fly from Bristol, London and Manchester airport.”
