Commenting on the Welsh Government’s daily Covid-19 briefing, Welsh Conservative Shadow Health Minister, Angela Burns MS, said:
“We are delighted that Wales is being included in the vital UK-wide trials of the Oxford vaccine for Covid-19. The UK Government has already secured a deal for 30 million vaccines for the UK, so that people across the country can have access to this much sought-after discovery.
“The Welsh Government trials on contact tracing taking place are welcome however, contact tracing is a key aspect that we should have continued during the peak of the pandemic. That way this should be a ramping up rather than attempting to start from scratch.
“It is good to finally hear an optimistic and aspirational tone to how we exit lockdown, something that has been lacking from the Welsh Government, that we have been calling for.”
