Commenting, Welsh Conservative and Shadow Health Minister Russell George MS said:
“The Welsh Conservatives want to pay tribute to all those in our emergency services – they do very stressful work, literally saving lives day in, day out – and deserve our appreciation.
“That’s why it is difficult to see services like ambulances going through such a harsh time across Wales due to mismanagement from the Welsh Government, with knock-on consequences for public and emergency services, including long waits for patients outside hospitals.
“It also feels appropriate to highlight the proposal to remove air ambulance services from Welshpool, which could have catastrophic results, as people who have been lucky enough to rely on them will attest.
“So, I want to say thank you to emergency services workers but also commit to backing them by ensuring they get the support from government that they need going forward.”
