Commenting on the Welsh Government’s announcement that more pupils in Wales could be back in class before Easter, Welsh Conservative Shadow Education Minister, Suzy Davies MS said:
“The Welsh Conservatives’ number one priority has always been to get pupils back into the classroom so we welcome this U-turn from the Welsh Government.
“Only yesterday ministers were blustering in answer to Welsh Conservative questions. We’ve heard contradictory assertions that return to school was unsafe and not following the science at a time when they planned to use headroom to ease restrictions in other areas of society.
“It is somewhat regrettable that it has taken this long to provide this information to families but I am pleased opposition pressure has won the day and that more children across Wales will be back in school before Easter.”
