Commenting, Welsh Conservative and Shadow Services Minister Gareth Davies MS said:
“More funding for childcare is welcome but given the increasing cost-of-living, we should not forget that this total pot of money could be doubled by not spending £100m on 36 new politicians in Cardiff Bay, which is being pushed by Labour and Plaid, with no mandate from the Welsh people.
“Furthermore, it seems that extending the offer by supporting Flying Start providers to expand their reach rather than by, say, a voucher system for those families on universal credit, Labour and Plaid have got the implementation back-to-front.
“I hope that the Minister reflects on this and makes the necessary changes to end the postcode lottery where affluent families benefit from the scheme while the most deprived lose out.”
