Janet Finch-Saunders

Welsh Conservatives have warned that more of Labour’s empty rhetoric on environmental issues could lead to irreparable damage. Commenting on the news, Shadow Minister for Climate Change, Janet Finch-Saunders MS said:

“Since the declaration of a climate change emergency in 2019, we have seen nothing but empty rhetoric, delayed legislation and missed targets by Labour.

“While Wales faces a biodiversity and climate crisis, Labour ministers have sat around and watched.

“It is all well and good for Labour to set a new series of targets but why haven’t we seen this sooner?

“Labour ministers need to act and act now, taking steps such as the establishment of an Independent Office for Environmental protection to hold the Welsh Government and other public bodies to account.”
