Samuel Kurtz

Commenting on the latest labour market statistics for Wales revealing a significant and rapid rise in unemployment to 4.8%, now the highest rate in the UK, Welsh Conservative Shadow Economy Minister, Samuel Kurtz MS said:

“Labour have consistently failed on the economy, and the rising unemployment here in Wales is a stark testament to 25 years of their mismanagement. Now, Sir Keir seems determined to impose even more hardship on us in Wales when it’s clear enough is enough.

“With talk of Labour in Westminster considering a rise in employer national insurance, how can the Welsh economy be expected to survive the blow of a Labour budget?

“The Welsh Conservatives have a plan to revitalise the Welsh economy by cutting business rates, which are currently the highest in the UK, and refocusing on skills development to ensure that our workforce is trained and ready for the jobs of the future.”
