A statement from Paul Davies, Member of the Welsh Parliament and the Leader of the Opoistion in the Parliament:
“Today (May 6) marks the date when the Welsh Assembly transitions into the Welsh Parliament, and although under other circumstances it would be a time for celebration, our attention must focus on the struggle to defeat the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I hope that the change from an Assembly to a Parliament will make clearer to people here in Wales of the responsibilities and duties of the legislative body, the Parliament, and that it is a separate institution to the executive, the Welsh Government.”
