Janet Finch-Saunders

Data released under the Freedom of Information Act, shows that the Labour Minister only met housing developers three times in 2021 for a grand total of 2 and a half hours.

Earlier this year, it emerged that Labour had not spent a penny on building safety in Wales despite £60 million being made available as a result of spending in England.

Commenting on the news, Welsh Conservative Shadow Housing Minister, Janet Finch-Saunders MS said:

“It is deeply concerning that Labour’s Housing Minister is bragging about not having met housing developers between October 2021 and February 2022. This begs the question why?

“I would have thought that, if Labour Ministers shared the very real concerns that people who live in buildings with dangerous cladding have, they would be acting a lot quicker.

“Labour Ministers need to show the urgency that this issue deserves and take more swift and decisive action to tackle dangerous cladding in Wales.”
