Andrew RT Davies

Commenting on the efficacy of the inclusion of current and former asylum seekers in Labour’s ‘Basic Income pilot’, Andrew RT Davies MS, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives said:

“Labour’s basic income payment scheme acts as an unacceptable pull factor that precisely no one is applauding apart from the evil people smugglers.

“We know that Labour ministers in the Senedd, Keir Starmer’s “blueprint” for government, want to pay £1,600 to illegal migrants on top of their legal fees.

“You can’t trust Labour on illegal migration. Only the Welsh Conservatives are standing up to Labour’s dangerous distractions in the Welsh Parliament.”
