At questions to the Economy Minister, Shadow Tourism Minister, Tom Giffard MS asked if those with disabilities and armed forces personnel will be exempt from the tourism tax.
Commenting on the exchange, Tom Giffard MS said:
“We know that the tourism sector is united in their opposition to Labour’s tourism tax. We also know that adding costs to a family holiday in Wales, will drive down our competitiveness and put 1-in-7 livelihoods at risk.
“Yet the Labour Government in Cardiff Bay are pressing ahead. They do not see tourism as an industry to be promoted or enhanced. They see it as something to tax instead.
“So I put it to Vaughan Gething, that if Labour are insisting on implementing this new tax, will they at least exempt those with disabilities and armed forces personnel. Once again, I was left without answers.”
