The Welsh Conservatives accused Labour ministers of failing to take decisive action to invest in renewable energy.

Commenting on the news, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Climate Change, Janet Finch-Saunders MS said:

“There is nothing bold or ambitious about Labour’s green strategy – just empty rhetoric and no decisive action.

“It is clear that Labour ministers have been far too slow to act to invest in green renewable energy sources, choosing instead to take away business rate relief from small scale hydro projects in Wales.

“Labour must listen to our calls to invest £150 million into a Wales Marine Energy Investment fund, ensuring Wales can make the most of our green energy sources.”
