The Welsh Conservatives have accused Labour ministers of playing politics with economic issues in Wales. Commenting, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for the Economy, Paul Davies MS said:
“While the Conservative Chancellor announced his vision for long-term prosperity across the United Kingdom, Labour ministers have been playing politics with economic issues facing the people of Wales.
“Devoid of a plan or economic strategy to solve their failings, Labour’s Minister for the Economy has chosen to blame Brexit for the closure of the 2 Sisters factory. It is clear that Labour ministers really have no idea what they are doing on the economy.
“While the Labour Government in Cardiff Bay runs the Welsh economy into the ground, the Conservatives have a plan for the economy in Wales, investing in a free port, encouraging enterprise and levelling-up across the country.
“Labour ministers need to stop hiding behind political talking points and empty rhetoric and work with, not against, the UK Conservative Government to bring about economic prosperity.”
Earlier today, the Chancellor set out his long-term economic plan for prosperity in the United Kingdom by encouraging enterprise, tackling poor productivity, and getting more people into better paid jobs right across the country.
