Commenting following his spokesperson’s questions to the Labour Economy Minister, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for the Economy, Paul Davies MS said:
“Through my meetings with businesses across Wales, I am told time and time again that Wales’ workforce needs upskilling. Labour promised good quality skills training in the growing areas of the global economy, but so far are not delivering.
“The Minister admitted himself in a later question that the Labour Government hold many of the economic levers and given the rise in unemployment and the difficult situation we are seeing with economic inactivity rates, something does need to be done.
“It is vital that we work with business to ensure that we have the capacity to deliver high quality education, including degree apprenticeships and vocational skills to enhance the Welsh workforce and improve our economic outlook.”
