Commenting following his exchange with Labour’s Economy Cabinet Secretary on the specific number of Welsh jobs that will be lost of the 100,000 UK job losses predicted by Deutsche Bank following the Labour UK Government’s Budget, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Economy and Energy, Samuel Kurtz MS said:

“Labour’s silence was deafening today in the Senedd.

“It’s clear from my questions that Labour ministers have no idea how many Welsh jobs will be lost as a result of UK Labour’s punitive budget.

“Instead of defending the jobs tax imposed by Rachel Reeves, Labour ministers in Cardiff Bay should be opposing it. It’s clear that only the Welsh Conservatives are standing up for Welsh businesses and for Wales.”
