Labour creates sat-nav confusion over 20mph

On Jason Mohammad’s Phone In programme on BBC Radio Wales on Wednesday, Lee Waters was asked by a member of the public; “Will my sat-nav know it’s 20 miles per hour? To which the Deputy Minister responded “Yes.”

Today, GPS companies have warned not to rely on Satellite Navigation to correctly identify the new 20mph speed limit.

Commenting on the discrepancy and sheer confusion, Welsh Conservative Shadow Transport Minister, Natasha Asghar MS said:

“There is already confusion surrounding the rollout of the blanket 20mph speed limit change. Satellite Navigation not identifying 20mph speed limits does nothing more than add to the overall uncertainty on the rollout of this madcap policy. People rely on their sat-nav in unfamiliar areas to inform them of the appropriate speed limits.

“Labour and Plaid Cymru have refused to listen to public opinion and are continuing to wage their anti-worker, anti-road and anti-motorist agenda. With 2 days until this ludicrous policy is enforced on a resistant Welsh population, we continue to see more ridiculous stories come out.”
