Commenting on the news that a number of councillors have called for roads that were recently changed to 20 mph speed limits to revert back to 30 mph. Welsh Conservative Shadow Transport Minister Natasha Asghar, MS said:

“Labour’s disastrous blanket 20mph policy has been in place for less than a month and people have had enough already.

“With councillors in Cardiff and Flintshire calling for more roads to revert back to 30mph and calls for it to be scrapped in a record-breaking history making petition, which has reached more than 450,000 signatures, it is clear that this policy is an abject failure.

“Last week after our vote of no confidence in the Deputy Minister, he has changed his stance and is now open to more exemptions. Although he still needs to go further, listen to the concerns of the Welsh people and scrap blanket 20mph speed limits saving the Welsh economy up to £9 billion as a result.”
