Welcoming the news that proposals for a new public body, a £700,000 a year shadow broadcast authority, are not being taken forward, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Culture, Tourism and Sport, Tom Giffard MS said:
“I welcome the news that Labour and Plaid’s nationalist talking shop will no longer represent a distraction from the people of Wales’ priorities, given that this area is not devolved to the Labour Government.
“I’m glad that the money previously earmarked will no longer be siphoned from our Welsh NHS as Labour-run Wales continues to suffer with the longest waits in the UK, with over 27,000 waiting over two years for treatment.
“The Labour Government would do well to recognise the funding pressures of their own making and cancel their many other costly vanity projects from their blanket 20mph limits to £120 million plan to send 36 more politicians to Cardiff Bay.”
