Responding to the Welsh Government’s local government settlement, Sam Rowlands MS, Shadow Minister for Local Government, said:
“Another year of the Welsh Government’s stale funding formula is another year of winners and losers in Wales’ council.
“The funding formula is out of date, and it is putting undue pressure on council finances, with local leaders being forced to balance their budgets on the backs of residents.
“It’s time to launch an independent review of the funding formula to build a sustainable model which can keep council tax low.”
