OUR PLAN FOR CLWYD
- Declare A Health Emergency: Improve access to GP and dentist appointments, reduce waiting times for treatment and ensure swifter access to emergency care.
- Fair Deal for North Wales: North Wales gets a rough deal from the Welsh Labour Government. We will work to ensure that Clwyd gets its fair share of funding.
- Scrap unpopular 20mph speed limit changes: Labour’s 20mph policy isn’t working and we would scrap 20mph speed limits, except outside schools, hospitals and proven accident hotspots.
- Lower Taxes: The Welsh Conservatives would introduce a 1p cut in basic rate to save the average family £450 per year, keep council tax down, and scrap business rates for small firms.
- Support our Schools: Under Labour, school budgets in Wales have been cut. The Welsh Conservatives would prioritise funding, restore school discipline and improve school attainment.
- Cut Wasteful Spending: Reverse Labour and Plaid’s decision to increase
the number of politicians in Cardiff,
saving taxpayers circa £20m each year. - Invest in Infrastructure: Improve our roads, rail network, flood defences and broadband connectivity, and tackle mobile signal blackspots.
BOUNDARY CHANGES
In next year’s Senedd elections, big changes are on the way. The Clwyd North and Clwyd East constituencies will merge to form the new super-constituency of Clwyd. Under the new system, six candidates will be elected through the regional list system meaning every vote truly counts more than ever before.
