FIX OUR NHS

FIX OUR WELSH NHS

Only a Welsh Conservative Government will:

  • Reaffirm that the Welsh NHS should always remain free at the point of delivery, publicly funded, and not replaced by an insurance-based system.
  • Declare a health emergency to direct the resources and apparatus of the Welsh Government at cutting NHS waiting lists.
  • Ensure no patient waits more than 12 months for treatment.
  • Introduce a seven-day GP wait guarantee.
  • Carry out a comprehensive Welsh NHS recruitment and retention plan.
  • Build more surgical hubs and expanding rapid diagnostic centres.
  • Restore patient choice in where they can access healthcare.
  • Launch a cancer action plan.
  • Create an NHS Leadership Register – to ensure that failed managers are not simply rehired to new positions within the Welsh NHS.
  • Initiate a public inquiry into Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.
  • Provide £40 million for hospices over the Senedd term, ringfencing funding for Wales’ children’s hospices to meet 50% oftheir operating costs.

Under the Welsh Labour Government, propped up by Plaid Cymru, our Welsh NHS is broken.

In Wales we have the highest NHS waiting lists in the whole of the United Kingdom, with over 600,000 people waiting on an NHS waiting list, and over 7,000 people waiting two or more years for NHS treatment.

You are 380-times more likely to wait over two-years on the Welsh NHS waiting list than if you’re on the NHS waiting list in England.

TO FIX OUR NHS, a Welsh Conservative Government would declare a Health Emergency on day one of Government, to ensure sufficient resources and the entire apparatus of Government is focused on reducing waiting lists.
