CUT WASTE

Only a Welsh Conservative Government will:

  • Initiate an Anti-Waste Action Plan – to bear down on wasteful spending and inefficiency across departments.
  • Scrap Senedd expansion – reversing the creation of 36 more politicians.
  • Cut spending on non-devolved issues – such as overseas offices, constitutional commissions and ‘justice delivery’.
  • Scrap the Nation of Sanctuary plan.
  • Cut ministerial pay and freeze for public sector employees earning more than £100,000.

Labour and Plaid’s decision to increase the number of politicians in the Welsh Parliament by 36 will cost the Welsh taxpayer £120 million pounds.

Staggeringly, Reform UK have welcomed the changes, calling the announcement an ‘exciting one’.

Wales needs more doctors, nurses, teachers and dentists, not £120m million of taxpayers’ money spent on more politicians.

In the Welsh Conservatives, we have been clear, NO to more Senedd Members.

Only the Welsh Conservatives oppose the increase in the number of MSs, and only the Welsh Conservatives will REVERSE Senedd expansion.
