Take our survey and help Fix Council Tax
Across Wales, residents are being hit with an average Council Tax rise of 7.2%, compared to 5% in England, all whilst our local services continue to get cut.
After 26 years of a Welsh Labour Government, propped up by Plaid Cymru, Council Tax in Wales is broken. If Council Tax had risen by the same rate in Wales as has been the case in England, households in Wales would now be £350 a year better off than they are today.
It’s clear, Labour’s socialist policies have delivered higher Council Tax, worse services, and poorer outcomes.
Welsh Conservative have a plan to lower Council Tax in Wales, and give local people a greater say over Council Tax rises:
- Require any Council proposing a Council Tax rise of 5% or more to hold a local referendum before implementing the proposed rise.
- Ensure Councils keep Council Tax as low as possible.
