On the 5th July 1948 the National Health Service was created.

This year the NHS is celebrating its 75th birthday and as Welsh Conservatives we want to make sure that the NHS not only survives, but thrives, for another 75 years.

We all know how hard our incredible Welsh NHS Staff and volunteers work, but patients are being let down by political leaders in Cardiff.

From personal experience, everyone knows or has heard how hard it is to get a doctors’ appointment or to see a dentist. People are turning to payday loans to pay for private treatment after spending years on a never ending waiting list.

In Wales, 1 in 4 patients are on a waiting list and more than 31,000 people having been waiting for more than two years.

Shockingly the Welsh Government has confirmed that patients will have to wait until at least April 2024 – in England these two years waits have been eliminated. These are devastating statistics and show that the Welsh Government are focused on their vanity projects and not the Welsh NHS.

The Welsh Government – run by Labour since 1999 – receives £1.20 for every £1 spent on health in England. But only £1.05 makes it to the Welsh NHS.

The Welsh Conservatives are committed to guaranteeing that the Welsh NHS will remain free at the point of need. But we want to know your views on the future of the Welsh NHS.
